THE KEITH KELLEY CLUB IS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION NAMED IN HONOR OFFICER KEITH KELLEY, THE FIRST SJPD OFFICER TO LOSE HIS LIFE IN WWII.
THE CLUB WAS ORGANIZED IN 1944 BY NOW RETIRED CHIEF BART COLLINS TO ASSIST FELLOW OFFICER TOM FOWLER, A VICTIM OF CANCER. FUNDS WERE RAISED BUT THE CANCER CLAIMED TOM’S LIFE BEFORE THE CONTRIBUTIONS WERE EXPENDED. THAT MONEY BECAME THE SEED FOR TODAY’S KEITH KELLEY CLUB.
THE KKC STRIVES TO ASSIST MEMBERS IN NEED. OVER THE YEARS, ASSISTANCE HAS BEEN GIVEN IN A VARIETY OF WAYS TO INCLUDE FINANCIAL, GIFTS OR INTEREST FREE LOANS. THE KKC SENDS FLOWERS OR A REMEMBRANCE TO MEMBERS WHO ARE HOSPITALIZED, INJURED OR OFF WORK DUE TO AN ILLNESS
ALTHOUGH WE ARE NOT A SOCIAL CLUB, WE DO CELEBRATE OUR GOOD FORTUNES WITH AN ANNUAL SUMMER BARBECUE AND DINNER DANCE. ALL THIS COMES ABOUT THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF OUR MEMBERSHIP.
WE THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING THE KKC TO CONTINUE TO BE A PILLAR OF SUPPORT TO OUR SJ LAW ENFORCEMENT FAMILY.
- ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE SJPD, SWORN OR NON SWORN AND RESERVE OFFICERS MAY BECOME MEMBERS OF THE KKC.
- THE COST IS $5.00 PER PAY PERIOD OR $130 PER YEAR. THE $5.00 IS AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED FROM YOUR PAYCHECK. EMPLOYEES MAY JOIN BY FILLING OUT A MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION AND DROPPING IT IN THE KKC MAIL SLOT IN OSSD OR GIVE IT TO A BOARD MEMBER.
